Sarah Ferguson “The Duchess of York” Debuts her Novel

At 61, Sarah Ferguson “Fergie”, embraces herself and says “be who you are”. She has spent four decades in the public eye. She married Prince Andrew in 1986 and divorced him 10 years later.

Fergie has always worked for children’s charities around the world. She is now a grandmother to a 5-month old and relishes her title as “grandma”.

In the past year, the famous redhead has lost a friend to COVID-19 as well as experienced severe isolation due to the pandemic. She says that during it all she had “the extraordinary fear of getting it wrong or putting my head above the parapet just to be hit down.”

She has also had to deal with the issue of her ex-husband Prince Andrew’s association with Jeffery Epstein. It was this association that led him to step down from his royal duties in 2019. He continues to deny any wrongdoing related to Epstein’s crimes.

Ferguson is now entering the public eye with the debut of her first novel, “Her Heart for a Compass”. It’s a coming-of-age story based on one of her relatives, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.

n the 80’s Ferguson also dealt with the press pitting her and Princess Diana against one another. She says they were lifelong friends. She was made to feel frumpy and fat alongside the Princess.

In 2010, in a famous incident (an undercover sting) involving a $138 bottle of Burgundy wine, the Dutchess of York was caught trying to sell time and access to her former husband. She has said she was “tipsy and drinking wine”.

When asked if she has any regrets, Fergie answered, “I made friends with past mistakes”.
